What comes to mind when people talk about yoga?

Perhaps it is simply stretching the body, or impossible poses you can’t imagine how it could be done, or an exercise that can make you sweat…

To Gina, yoga is the starting point for finding peace and harmony of mind, body and spirit. When she took her first class, she was just a teenage girl who did not like to exercise and was looking for an easy, comfortable way to start “working out”. With years of practice, that original intention of doing yoga has changed. Yoga is no longer an exercise, but an attitude towards life.

No matter how fast the world is changing or how many noises are echoing around in her brain, Gina knows when she opens up her mat, she is opening up a stabilizing force. It is a place where she can ground her feet and move the body with the breath, where everything is that calm and stable. Yoga is never a place to escape reality; rather it is a philosophical principle that allows you to settle the mind and see the world from a different standpoint. Studying yoga is a never-ending path. Gina has transform from someone who view yoga as simply a workout to a student who studies endlessly.

Everything happens for a reason. Yoga taught Gina how to love and be loved, how to respect, how to cherish, how to let go and how to love herself. On the path of yoga, she has received many gifts and she hopes to pass on this love and joy to all the students in class.
