With a background in dancing and aerobics, Lucy fell in love with Pilates when she was studying abroad ten years ago. Ever since then, she devoted herself to the teaching and the studying of Pilates. Now with a decade of experience under her belt, which included teaching Pilates at Versante, a fitness studio in Vancouver, Lucy wanted to teach people how to correctly move their own body, down to the most minute part.
Lucy is experienced in teaching students with variety of skill and physical condition. This included the sedentary, computer-using, nine-to-fiver, rehabilitating athletes, and seniors who would like to maintain their health. She has even taught a forty-five year old man who has been through 16 years of chemotherapy, a blind, sixty year old mother and a fourteen year old violin student. The most memorable one for her was a pair of father and son who wanted to take classes together, where the father hoped the son can maintain the health that he had lost.
Lucy’s teaching starts from listening. By listening to the student’s body, to students describing their own discomforts and the past events, she is then able to specifically design a sequence of Pilates movements addressing their needs. The end result is a strong core, efficient and coordinated muscles and a rebalanced body.
Everyone gets injured sometimes, but no one likes the trouble or the pain and suffering as a result. Finding a professional, knowledgeable, Pilates teacher who can positively guide you through the rehabilitation period is the first step on the path of restoring your health. Let Lucy guide you through this path with care and encouragement.
